Beef & Broccoli Stirfry

Ingredients

  • 1/4 pounds flank steak, sliced against the grain
  • 4 cups broccoli, chopped
  • Dash peanut oil
  • Sticky rice (Nishki is best), udon noodles (thick Japanese) or soba noodles (buckwheat)

Marinade

  • 1 Tbs cornstarch
  • 1 Tbs soy sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 to 4 tsp ginger root, grated

Gravy

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 Tbs cornstarch
  • 1 Tbs soy sauce
  • 2 Tbs oyster sauce

Directions

Mix cornstarch, soy, garlic, and ginger together, marinate steak.

Stir fry meat in peanut oil, remove from wok and put aside. Stir fry broccoli for 1 minutes, then add 1 Tbs water, cover wok and steam till tender. Add gravy, stir and cook. Add meat, stir, serve immediately. Serve over rice or noodles.

Other Additions: Cashews, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, carrots, or snowpeas.
