
Grandma Vola
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 (14-oz) can pineapple chunks
- 1 pound red OR green grapes
- 1 (10-oz) bottle maraschino cherries
- 1 (11-oz) can mandarin oranges
- 1/2 pound mini marshmallows
- 1 pint whipping cream
Cook sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, eggs and milk until thickened, then cool. Fold fruit and marshmallows into the sauce. Fold mixture into whipping cream. Clean and dry an empty paper quart milk carton. Put mixture inside and freeze overnight.
To serve: Remove from freezer, slice carton and salad with a knife, remove the paper, and serve.
